Placement Readiness Program for IMS Students

When you talk of leadership, images of Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Sir Winston Churchill, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Narayan Murthy and the like immediately conjure up in the mind.

True, they are leaders par excellence. But leadership is really much broader than this. Leadership is a philosophy of life. While CEOs  are usually great leaders, its imperative a power insight is taught to young managers to cope up with culture and quick decision making ability.

A Workshop on “Personality Development and Placement Readiness Program” by The Winning Mantra@Campus, has been conducted for all the second year students of PGDM/PGDM-MM/PGDM-IT/PGDM-TM, in the month of September-November 2011.

The Winning Mantra is one of the pioneers in the field of career related training, both for skills enhancement and personality development. Over the last 7 years, it has acquired powerful insights into the keys to success in professional careers.

The total batch of second year students have been divided into 6 batches of about 40-45 each. On each visit to the campus, the team engaged a batch for a full day, delivering 3 sessions of 2 hours each. Since 12 sessions per batch were planned, they have accomplished the programme over four visits. The team had three Faculty members in every visit to cover multiple batches on the same day.

The program had following objectives and features to strengthen the personality and to equip them for better career growth:

  1. Making the students aware of different personality dimensions
  2. Understanding own strengths and weaknesses
  3. Learning how to fare well in Group Discussions
  4. Preparing them to handle Personal Interviews successfully
  5. How to write a CV for maximum impact

The profiles of the team Winning Mantra as are follows:

  1. Mr. Pramod Joshi: Mr. Joshi is an Electronics Engineer from ITBHU,Varanasi, followed by an M.Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur and a PGDM from IIM Bangalore. He was the recipient of the IIM Gold Medal for Best All-round Performance in 1987.
  2. Mr. Sudhanshu Hajela: Mr. Hajela is an Electrical Engineer from IT-BHU and an MBA from XLRI,Jamshedpur. He has over 27 years of experience in Industry  Tata Steel, TRF, Tata Bearings,, Jindal Stainless), Management Training Institutes(TMDC), B-Schools(XLRI) and IGNOU in varied areas.
  3. Maj. Gen. (Retd) S. Ghosh: Maj. Gen. Ghosh is a highly decorated military General, with over 35 years of distinguished service. He is a former CEO of a global aviation academy. He is also the former President, Service Selection Board and former Director of an Educational conglomerate. He is a former Media Communication and Military Intelligence Advisor to Chief of Staff, Indian Army.
