On 7th of December, 2011(Saturday),
HR Department of IMS (Faculties and Students) organized its Annual Fest “AARON 2011”.The Chairperson of HR Management, Dr. Anita Singh, welcomed Dr. A. Kumar, Director of IMS, Dr. Urvashi Makkar (Dean-Academics), Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak(Chairperson-PGP Cell) , Area Chairpersons, fellow colleagues and budding managers of IMS. The programme started with the lighting of lamp by dignitaries and chanting of Saraswati vandana. Later on, a movie on HR Management was shown which showcased the creativity of students and developing various interpersonal skills in students with fun. The movie highlighted pictures related to last HR fest, faculties and students of HR Management. It was followed by launching of e- magazine: “COMPETENCE” by the Director. The e-magazine was designed by students of HR, which will provide updated information related to Job aspects, HR related articles, puzzles, and other methods to develop your interpersonal skills. It also contains brief summaries pertaining to Guest lectures held, industry visits undertaken and academic calendar for the ongoing semester.

After the formal inauguration, four events were conducted in different venues.

The first event was Documentary. There were several entries for the competition. 6 teams were shortlisted for final round. The Judges were Dr. Urvashi Makkar , Prof. Timira Shukla and Dr. Vidya Shekhari. Themes were “Motivation, Whistle blowing, Cognitive dissonance,  ”.

 3 member’s maximum in a team.

 6 minutes (max.) documentary. It should not exceed 5 minutes or the group will be disqualified.

 2 minutes presentation – Justification of the documentary given by any one of the group members.

 Documentary should be original; it should not be copied from the net. If the documentary is found copied then the team will be disqualified.

The second event was “Synergy”. The judges were: Dr. Simmi Agarwal , Prof. Sunil Bakshi and Prof. Rinku Sanjeev. There were 16 teams comprising two or three members each. Three prizes were fixed for winning teams.



1. The team comprises of  2- 3 members.

2. One of the member is blindfolded.

3. The blindfolded needs to cross the minefield within 3 minutes.

4. The blindfolded should not touch the landmine while crossing it otherwise he will have to start from beginning.

5. The team which will cross the landmine in minimum minutes along with the proper team coordination in terms of clarity of directions given, team effort etc.


Third Event was “Brain O splash”, it was a form of  “QUIZ”, where over 50 teams participated. After a preliminary screening round, only 6 teams of 2 members each were given quiz tables to occupy. The judges were Prof. S.k. Kapoor , Prof. Vijendra Dhyani and Prof. R.K Manocha. There were 4 rounds based on different categories. Audiences including faculties and students enjoyed a lot and got chocolates for correct answers.

The prize distribution ceremony was held around 4:30PM. The Director Sir, Dr.A. Kumar, gave away the prizes to all the winners. Total 25 prizes were distributed. Finally, Dr. Kumar blessed the students and appreciated them for showing enthusiasm in the Fest and emerging as a winner. Dr. Anita singh offered a memento to Dr. A.Kumar and expressed her gratitude for the kind presence. She also thanked to the Director, all judges, and organizing committee members besides students for their support and participation.
