Importance of Effective Communication

Tushar-JindalI always thought that communication cannot be taught, how can mother understand what the child wants, when the child cannot speak or rather communicate anything, then what makes her feel that the child is in need of something.

This makes me feel that silence is louder than speech and communication’s very first session of life begins with our interaction with our mother. But life and so is this world both are cruel and definitely as we grow, we start interacting less with mother and more with outsiders. And they need to be communicated properly if we want the world to listen and understand our thoughts.

Communication (from Latin “communis“, meaning to share) is the activity of conveying information through the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, visuals, signals, writing, or behavior. It is the meaningful exchange of information between two or a group of person.

Hence, the need to learn the communication skills becomes important in our life. Whether we become manager, Leader, Business man, Politician, Teacher or any other profession we choose, how well we communicate shows how much we can grow and how far we can go.

Rudyard Kipling said, “Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind”.

But it is not just limited to words which help us, sometimes non verbal communication also helps in communication.

The following are the advantages of communication:

  1. It helps in achieving our goals as they need to be communicated to our self.
  2. It helps in building stronger relationships, whether they are with colleagues, superiors, bosses etc.
  3. It lays down the foundation to reduce conflicts among various groups.
  4. It increases our chances of success as success ratio increases because of proper communication.
  5. It helps us in understanding others, and if we are able to understand others we can lay down foundation of sound relationship.
  6. It helps you in becoming a better employer and also a better employee.
  7. It is also a great source of information as communication helps in proper exchange of Informations.
  8. It also helps people in understanding us in a better way and somewhere effective communication saves time.
  9. It helps other to adapt to our thoughts and ideas and if society accepts your idea you feel great.
  10. It makes you more happy and delighted as communication relaxes you and helps is thinking new thoughts.

And the list goes on and on and it is not only limited to our professional life but extends to our personal life also.

I may not be able to communicate all the advantages of communication but this is the beauty of communication that sometimes in small communications we try to learn big learning lessons of communication.

Please keep on communicating and grow along with it.

Happy communication to all the readers.
