Special session on ‘Analysis of Union Budget 2016-17′

Institute of Management Studies Ghaziabad organized a special session on ‘Analysis of Union Budget 2016-17’ on Wednesday, February 9, 2016 under able guidance and patronage of Professor J.P. Sharma, Director IMS Ghaziabad. The session was organized by Faculty of Finance for PGDM Students with an objective of creating awareness of the key declarations made in union budget for economic development of the country and their impact on different industries and sectors.

The programme started with the gracious presence of Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Program Chairperson – PGDM, Dr. Avadesh kumar Gupta, HOD-MCA and all faculty members of IMS Ghaziabad. Dr. Nayak, in his address to the students, emphasized the importance of union budget and its impact on Indian economy and the corporate world.

Dr. Neeraj Sanghi, Area Chairperson Finance presented key announcements of union budget and their impact on rural India, Infrastructure development, corporate sector and investors. Dr. Nandita Mishra discussed the developments made in the budget related to direct taxation for individuals and corporate sector. Professor Mayank Kumar addressed the key changes proposed in union budget related to indirect taxation and its impact on the pricing of goods and services. Dr. Anurag Pahuja discussed the impact of union budget on service sector. Dr. Shalini Aggarwal and Mr. Gaurav Dawar presented the effect of key declarations of union budget on different industries of Indian economy.

The session got overwhelming response from the audience and students became wiser on the most contemporary topic “Union Budget 2016”.
