The Managing Director of IIFCI Infrastructure Development Ltd. Mr. Shivendra Tomar was the “Guest of Honour”.

In his inaugural lecture, Prof. Ajay K.Jain, Director IMS Ghaziabad, described Mr. Tomar as great “Entrepreneur and Transformational Leader”. In his view, Mr. Tomar, being CEOs of many companies, will be an ideal role model for young managers. For being a successful transformation leader, he emphasized on three aspects- Motivation, Transformation & Change Management.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Shivendra Tomar, highlighted the existing vast rural population in the country, which amounts to over 90 crores, and has the ‘huge market potential untapped’ so far. He quoted Noble Laureate Prof. Amartya Sen, who talked about ‘social welfare economy’. In India , state like Gujarat has shown tremendous entrepreneurial abilities because of which people in rural India are flourishing. AMUL is a classic success story in this regard. Mr. Tomar exhorted young managers to look for entrepreneurial opportunities in procurement, storage and transportation related infrastructures ie supply chain and cold supply chain management. He was of the firm opinion that if post-harvest losses could be controlled, which are presently to the tune of 40 percent, India can emerge as net exporter in agri-product business. The session was followed by ‘Question & Answer Session’.

The Coordinator of “Special Seminar Series”- Dr. S.K. Dube, expressed “Vote of Thanks” to the distinguished guests and audience.
