International Conference on Industry 4.0: Current Perspectives and Future Directions (ICOI2020) being organized by Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad jointly with Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management. The hon’ble Chief Guest of this prestigious conference was Prof. R.P. Mohanty Former Vice-Chancellor, SOA Deemed to be University, Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro Chancellor, North Cap University, Guest Of Honour, while the Keynote speakerswere Shri Srijan Pal Singh CEO, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre Former Advisor to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Prof. Christian Hicks from New Castle University Business School, UK.
The conference was jointly inaugurated by the hon’ble Prof. R.P. Mohanty, Prof. Prem Vrat, Shri Srijan Pal Singh and Prof. Christian Hicks, Prof. D.K. Banwet, Conference Chair & President GIFT Society &Former Vice Chancellor, UEM, Kolkata, Prof. Alok Pandey, Director, IMS, Ghaziabad; Prof. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, Prof. Vijay Gupta, Professor Emeritus &Conference Chair and Prof. Sunayana Jain, Area Chair- Operations &Conference Chair by lighting the lamp before the idol of goddess Saraswati.
During the inaugural address Prof. R.P. Mohanty appreciated the theme of the Conference and highlighted the importance of Industry 4.0. He focused on creating intelligent products, processes, and procedures. He shared his valuable ideas and experiences on the theme. Prof. Prem Vrat enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom. Prof. D. K. Banwet expressed his opinion on relevance of today’s Conference theme and why such conferences on contemporary themes should be organized on ongoing basis.Prof. Srijan Pal Singh emphasized on innovations and related government initiatives. Prof. Christian Hicks emphasized on howthese changes are signaling the transformation of entire system of production, management, and governance all across the globe. Prof. Alok Pandey during his welcome address said that such conferences are meant to meet likeminded people from industry and academia, and discuss new trends and opportunities pertaining to the business and growth of the economy. Prof. Sunayana Jain gave the overview of the conference and informed about the enormous response received from the researchers, academicians and corporates through research papers.
This conference highlighted the impact of transition to Fourth Industrial Revolution on Infrastructure, Ecosystem, Efficiency and Competitiveness of industrial operation. During the panel discussion the experts roofed impact of IOT and artificial intelligence on value chain support and optimization along with operational challenges of Industry 4.0 on certain industries which are emerging into smart operations in terms of monitoring and controlling data.
