“Placement Readiness Enhancement Programme” for PGDM Batch 2018-20 Students by The Winning Mantra

Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad organized Kick-Off Session for the 24 Hours Certification Program on “Placement Readiness Enhancement” (PREP) on September 30, 2019 by Mr. Pramod Joshi and his Team of “The Winning Mantra” for final year PGDM students of 2018-20 batch followed by the training sessions. In the beginning of the session, Prof. Alok Pandey Director-IMS Ghaziabad addressed the students emphasizing on the importance of Placement Readiness and overall grooming management students followed by a brief plan of 24 hours training by Mr. Pramod Joshi, Co-Founder & Director- TheWinning Mantra.

The Winning Mantra is one of the pioneers in the field of career training, both for skills enhancement and personality development. The Winning Mantra series of programs has spawned several successful careers, by giving the individual a robust and resilient platform to build his personal effectiveness on. This 24 hours certification programme will be continued on two days a week in the month of September-October 2019.

IMS Ghaziabad MCA Ist Year Students visited MCN Solutions Noida

IMS Ghaziabad organized Industrial Visit of MCA Ist Year Students to MCN Solutions Noida. During the visit, MCA 1st year students were exposed to very exhaustive and insightful sessions on Cloud computing, Virtual reality and Augmented reality. This visit to MCN was a jaw-dropping experience for many of the students. The students had a very interesting session on AI; in which they were made aware of Alexa, finger gestures and live demonstration of virtual reality headset. They also got a chance of interacting with the software professionals to answer their queries.

PGDM (Big-Data Analytics) & MCA students of IMS, Ghaziabad visited the global I.T giant IBM Research, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi which is one of the world’s largest and most influential corporate research organizations.

PGDM (Big-Data Analytics) & MCA students of IMS, Ghaziabad visited the global I.T giant IBM Research, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi which is one of the world’s largest and most influential corporate research organizations. This visit to IBM was a jaw-dropping experience for many of the students. During the visit, they not only interacted with the senior authorities in the company but also attended an interesting presentation on the profile and functioning of the company. The students thoroughly understood the nuances of the big data analysis and its significance globally.

This is worth mention here that IMS is running a Two Year full Time PGDM programme in Big Data Analytics in collaboration with global IT major IBM. The objective of the programme is to bridge the skill gap of prevailing current breed of data analytics professionals. This would ensure supply of professionals with the right skill sets to propel India in the Industry quickly. The Programme has been approved by AICTE. IMS Ghaziabad has signed an MoU with IBM with a purpose of delivering world class training and exposure to all students. This MoU with IBM would cover establishment of IBM Business Analytics Lab at IMS with latest data analytics software and tools including Watson, Cognos , R, Python, Tableau and training to all students. The MoU would ensure support for students by IBM certified professionals in the area of Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Big Data Engineering, Artificial intelligence. IBM would also offer international certification to all students in various specialized areas. The main thrust of this program is to imbibe a sense of Big Data outlook in solving business problems. Various job sectors comprising of job offers in the specialized area of Big Data Analytics include job profiles such as Business Analytics specialist, Predictive Analytics, Big Data Engineer, Machine Learning Analyst, BI Specialist, Big Data Architect, Data Visualization Developer, Sales/ marketing/CRM/Risk Analytics specialist etc.

Institute of Management Studies Ghaziabad organized Industrial Visit to COCA-COLA The HAPPINESS FACTORY, Greater Noida This visit was organized for 214 Students of PGDM 2019-21 Batch in four groups, from September 10-12 and 14, 2019.

At IMS Ghaziabad, we believe in extensive Industry Exposure through direct interaction of students with the industry.

All the Students were benefited during the presentation & interactive session with the Coca cola dignitaries, which satisfied the quest of young minds. Students took a keen interest to understand the various aspects of the business. They were also briefed upon the safety, pollution and energy efficiency norms being met by the bottling plant.

It was interesting to see the coke studio, the gaming corner and the polar bear in the beautiful premises. The industrial visit was full of knowledge & exposure to the budding IMSians.

IMS Ghaziabad organized One week Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Program, certified through MSME (Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises), Government of India for the students of PGDM Second year (Operation specialization) from September 5-10, 2019.

Mr. R. Arora , who is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified quality Engineer with 20+ years of experience was the trainer of the programme. Dean Academics –Dr Tapan Kumar Nayak and Operations Area Chairperson –Dr Sunayana Jain welcomed the trainer on behalf of the Director Prof. Alok Pandey and motivated the registered students to take the sessions seriously. The training cum workshop covered application aspects of Six Sigma in both core (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing) and support functions (HR, Finance, Admin and Maintenance).The Green Belts help to remove barriers, build right focus and gain momentum to ensure timely execution of projects. More than 40 students enrolled for this programme. The training programme leading to certification from Government of India Organisation accepted internationally will add great value to the students profiles.

“One Day Training Program: “First Steps – The PGDM Tour” For PGDM I Year (2019-21) on August 28, 2019

IMS Ghaziabad organized a one day workshop for PGDM First Year students on August 28, 2019. The Chief Executive of GHRDC, Ms. Mekhla Sinha and her team members were also present.

Dean Academics- Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, welcomed the trainers Chief executive GHRDC Ms. Mekhla Sinha and Ms. Neha Kapoor, Manager, GHRDC with Good Luck Plants.

The basic objectives of the workshop were to familiarize young PGDM students with goal setting to achieve success; coping with expectations and anxieties among new aspirants of PGDM programme; exploring specialization subjects towards career scopes and opportunities, inculcating effective communication for a better personality development besides becoming aware about corporate expectations.

The students underwent practical sessions in order to understand team building, group dynamics, goal setting and effective communication. These sessions were fruitful to students and exposed them to future career aspirations.

The programme ended with by offering ‘vote of thanks’ to distinguished guests and the audience.

Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph D, Director- IMS Ghaziabad, Center for Research on Managing Insolvency and Bankruptcy (CROMIB) was inaugurated by Mr. Amarjit Chopra, Past President ICAI and Former Chairman, NACAS on May 13, 2019. It is the first Strategic Research Unit (SRU) of the institute.

Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph D, Director- IMS Ghaziabad, Center for Research on Managing Insolvency and Bankruptcy (CROMIB) was inaugurated by Mr. Amarjit Chopra, Past President ICAI and Former Chairman, NACAS on May 13, 2019. It is the first Strategic Research Unit (SRU) of the institute.

The CROMIB will spearhead advance research on all issues related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy in India. It will seek to actively liaise with all stakeholders like IBBI, NCLT, NCLAT, MCA, Banks, Firms and other statutory bodies.

Prof. Alok Pandey expressed confidence that in the course of time, CROMIB will come to be acknowledged as a leading contributor to the intellectual capital on policy issues related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy.

Sri Chopra then addressed the faculty members in a special seminar on the theme “Corporate Governance- Research Imperatives”. Having been there and done it, he shared some rare insights on why there have been multi-lateral failures on governance in India. His talk evoked many questions from the audience and animated discussions. The audience found the session highly engaging and enlightening.

Prof. Alok Pandey welcomed the guest and set the tone of the seminar in his address. Dr. Tapan K Nayak, Dean (Academics-PGDM), Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, Dean-Research, Dr. Anita Singh, Area Chair -HR, Dr. Vijesh Jain, Dean-MDP and Ms Shinu Vij, Assistant Professor-Business Law were also present among all other faculty members.
