Under the dynamic patronage of Prof Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad organised 36th webinar on the theme “Issues and Challenges of Supply Chain during & Post COVID-19: Responses from Business Enterprises” by Mr MA Mateen (Former Senior VP, Berger paints, British Paints Division).

Dean Academics Prof Tapan Kumar Nayak introduced and welcomed the guest for the webinar. Mr Mateen lucidly stated that a robust Supply chain is an important factor for success of any business. He aptly discussed about badly affected Industries like Pharma, Automotive, paints etc. as their raw materials are coming from China leading to a cascading effect on their overall supply chain.

He shared that it’s the right time when the government should incentivize to improve the supply chain for the growth of Indian economy and also emphasized on three attributes that can act as determinants for the success for any supply chain are AGILE, ADOPT and ALIGN. The session ended with an interactive question & answer round.

IMS Ghaziabad organized Online International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Information Technology and Data Science” in association with PHDCCI & IETE New Delhi, July 4, 2020

Stalwarts from industry and academia graced the conference with their esteemed presence and made it a huge success. The event started with an inaugural session. Prof Sachin Malhotra, Dean MCA and Conference Chair briefed everyone about the conference; which was followed by a welcome address by Prof Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad. Sir emphasized on the usage of technology, machine learning and big data and focused on the hybrid model. He stated that enormous online presence and India’s talent pool in Silicon Valley surely makes us “Aatmanirbhar” in the domain.

Mr K. K. Agarwal, Chairman, NBA was the chief Guest for the day and in his address he insisted on using technology as a tool and not a subject to make us acquainted to it. Mr Rahul Kumar Gupta, Senior Director, Technology, Publicis Sapient, spoke as the distinguished speaker for the day and briefed everyone on cloud computing and block chain technology. Mr Naveen Dachuri, Co Founder & CTO, Yulu focused on research and its importance in current scenario.

Expert & Session Moderator was Mr Rishikesh Patankar, Chief Operating Officer Education, Skill Development & CSC Academy; Expert Prof Sanjiva Shankar Dubey, Professor BIMTECH; Expert Deepak Sharma, Cofounder & COO, RecogX.AI and Adjunct Faculty, IIM Lucknow; Expert: Ashok Bhatt, Emulation R&D Director, Synopsys also shared their views on contemporary topics. Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr Tapan K Nayak, Dean Academics, IMS Ghaziabad.

The session continued post lunch with technical sessions by dexterous members of Industry and academia. The ceremony wrapped up with a valedictory session with Prof S G Deshmukh, Mechanical Department, IIT Delhi as Chief Guest; Prof. S L Kapoor, Elected Member of the Governing Council of IETE, Delhi and Dr Sujeet Sharma, Associate Professor, IIM Trichy as Guest of Honor.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Alok Pandey, Conference Patron and Director, IMS Ghaziabad and best paper award were announced. Vote of thanks extended by Dr Nripendra Dwivedi, Conference Convener and Professor-IT, IMS Ghaziabad.

Farewell of Mr Prem Bahadur

IMS Ghaziabad bid a poignant goodbye to Mr Prem Bahadur, who extended his service as a Group-D non teaching employee for approximately 29 years at the institute. A farewell ceremony was conducted in the Auditorium with all the faculty and staff members with strict social distancing norms in force. Prof Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, spoke on the contribution of Mr. Prem Bahadur during the last three decades and thanked him for his devotion to the organization. Several faculty members along with Registrar & Manager-Administration expressed their gratitude to Mr. Prem Bahadur for the hard work put in by him for the Institute over the years. We all wish Mr Prem Bahadur all the best things in life and good luck for his second innings!

Online Faculty Development Program on “Understanding Financial Research Techniques using EViews” from June 15 – 19, 2020.

Under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr) Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad organised an online FDP on “Understanding Financial Research Techniques using EViews” during June 15-19, 2020.The resource persons of the FDP were Dr. Ajay Kumar Chauhan and Dr. Nikhil Kaushik. During these 5 days the participants learnt about financial researchtechniques and analysis. First day of FDP emphasized the EViews interface and importance of residuals in the regression model. Second and third day of FDP taken by our external expert, Dr. Ajay Kumar Chauhan covered Time Series analysis, with concepts of stationarity and modeling Conditional Volatility like ARCH, GARCH, EGARCH models and VAR models. Fourth day covered VECM models and last session was on Panel regression, taken by Dr.Nikhil Kaushik. Around 100 participants from India, Bhutan, Oman,Nepal and Saudi Arabia attended the FDP. Prof. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean-Academics, IMS Ghaziabad also addressed the participants briefly on the last day of the FDP. Ms. Shinu Vig and Dr. Ankit Goel, the conveners of the one week faculty development program thanked the participants.

The Other expert speakers for the FDP are Mr. Deepak Sharma, Cofounder & COO, RecogX.AI and Adjunct Faculty IIM Lucknow, and Mr. Gaurav Budhiraja, Lead Analytics – Tech Mahindra who have their sessions spread across the week.
