Road, Ghaziabad organized a seminar on July 22, 2019 “Jal Divas” in its auditorium in which students, staff and students participated in a large number. Speakers from the faculty and students addressed the participants. Director Dr. Alok Pandey addressed the gathering and gave information on popular techniques for water management such as Water harvesting, Rain Water harvesting, Groundwater harvesting, Drip irrigation.

In addition he exhorted the students together with Water-wise habits, such as utilizing smaller quantity of water for washing clothes, fixing leaky taps. Keeping the tap closed while brushing, using bucket for bathing instead of shower etc. Dr. Anchal Mishra showed few videos on water management techniques to the audience.

2nd day of one week Induction Programme at Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad for its 30th PGDM Batch (2019-21) commenced with session on yoga, spirituality, mudra and stress management to sensitize the students with the importance of ‘healthy mind with healthy body’. Dr. D.N. Sharma, President , International Naturopathy Organization, New Delhi, Yogacharya Sangita Tyagi, Expert Yogshala, Namo Gange Trust, Mr. V.K. Bansal, Mudra Gyan expert, were the renowned speakers of the session.

Mrs. Anuja Kapur, Criminal Psychologist & Advocate, Supreme Court of India talked about the criminal psychology and also sensitized the new entrants with the sexual harassment laws. The session got over with the vote of thanks by Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics. Post Lunch session was interaction session with senior alumni of IMS Ghaziabad highlighting the ‘Corporate expectations from budding managers’. The session witnessed Mr. Rajeev Agnihotri, GM, Pawan Hans, Mr. Ashish Goel, Director- Sales, Cognizant & Mr. Himanshu Sharma, Director, Squeakcorp who shared their rich experiences and the journey from IMS to great heights with the budding entrepreneurs by emphazing on hard work, sincerity and also suggested students to focus on the analytical abilities, communication skills, social networking and think creatively.

1st Day of one week Induction Programme at Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad for its 30th PGDM Batch (2019-21) is inaugurated by Prof. Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, Prof. Sachin Malhotra, Dean M.C.A., Deans & Area Chairs of various Departments. 1st day of the Induction Programme has witnessed a gathering of more than 400 people including the new entrants, their proud parents, faculty & staff members. The programme commenced with the welcome by Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dean Academics, to apprise the students about the teaching pedagogy, various departmental activities, including importance and scope of academics in the industry and also emphasized to be a good human being. Post Lunch session was chaired by Prof. Alok Pandey, Director, IMS Ghaziabad in the parents interaction session and exhorted the parents to inculcate values and ethics by focusing on hard work and honesty and requested the parents to encourage their wards to take up the challenges and be the forerunners in the development of the country.

Institute of Management Studies, Ghaziabad (IMS) celebrated International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, 2019 with faculty, staff and students in IMS campus. Prof. Alok Pandey, Director – IMS Ghaziabad inaugurated the event by welcoming Shri. Manmohan Vohra and Smt. Veena Vohra – Yoga trainers. The Yoga Session was conducted by Shri. Manmohan Vohra. He discussed and emphasized the contribution of yoga in maintaining fitness, good health and how it helps everyone to increase work efficiency.

He stressed upon the fact that yoga is the scientific way of bringing body and mind together which makes us healthy and increases life expectancy. The demonstration aimed at inspiring everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routine and awaken and explore subtle energies to have a better control over the mind, body and social well-being. All the participants performed different asanas under the guidance of the expert yoga trainer. Faculty & Staff & students enthusiastically participated in the event.

Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph D, Director- IMS Ghaziabad, Center for Research on Managing Insolvency and Bankruptcy (CROMIB) was inaugurated by Mr. Amarjit Chopra, Past President ICAI and Former Chairman, NACAS on May 13, 2019. It is the first Strategic Research Unit (SRU) of the institute.

Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Alok Pandey, Ph D, Director- IMS Ghaziabad, Center for Research on Managing Insolvency and Bankruptcy (CROMIB) was inaugurated by Mr. Amarjit Chopra, Past President ICAI and Former Chairman, NACAS on May 13, 2019. It is the first Strategic Research Unit (SRU) of the institute.

The CROMIB will spearhead advance research on all issues related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy in India. It will seek to actively liaise with all stakeholders like IBBI, NCLT, NCLAT, MCA, Banks, Firms and other statutory bodies.

Prof. Alok Pandey expressed confidence that in the course of time, CROMIB will come to be acknowledged as a leading contributor to the intellectual capital on policy issues related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy.

Sri Chopra then addressed the faculty members in a special seminar on the theme “Corporate Governance- Research Imperatives”. Having been there and done it, he shared some rare insights on why there have been multi-lateral failures on governance in India. His talk evoked many questions from the audience and animated discussions. The audience found the session highly engaging and enlightening.

Prof. Alok Pandey welcomed the guest and set the tone of the seminar in his address. Dr. Tapan K Nayak, Dean (Academics-PGDM), Dr. Pankaj K Agarwal, Dean-Research, Dr. Anita Singh, Area Chair -HR, Dr. Vijesh Jain, Dean-MDP and Ms Shinu Vij, Assistant Professor-Business Law were also present among all other faculty members.
