Corporate Exposure– 3 DAY GROWTH NET SUMMIT

Under the umbrella of Corporate Interface series, IMS Ghaziabad provided an exuberant opportunityto its PGDM First year students to be a part of 3 day International Growth Net Summit. The Summit was a joint initiative of Ananta Center &Smadja&Smadjaheld at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.

This summit witnessed sixty prominent and influential speakers from seventeen countries.Few of these key personalities were :

• Chair, Women Private Equity Fund, Africa- Wendy Luhabe
• MP, RajyaSabha- Naresh Gujral
• South Asia Correspondent, Financial Times- Amy Kazmin

PGDM Students were actively participated in the areas like Event Management, Guest Handling, and Coordination committee. The budding managers had a real life managing experience, as they had a chance to magnify their knowledge base not only regarding our own Indian economy but also grasped about other emerging economies like China & South Africa. The three day International level of exposure acted as an important tool in grooming the fresh blood. Also, It was be a matter of pride to listen the views and an opportunity to interact with such eminent dignitaries of National and International repute.

PGDM Students attended BRICS HR Directors Conclave

IMS Ghaziabad always strives forward for new initiatives to provide international exposure to its students. In continuation to that, PGDM Students of IMS Ghaziabad attended BRICS HR Directors Conclave on 13th March 2015 at Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) organized its first annual conclave where supreme delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa discussed on trade agreements. The conclave witnessed more than 250 delegates mainly from HR domain which included individuals from companies based in India and abroad as well as academics. The conclave focussed on three key areas like Talent, Skill and Youth.These three areas will play a critical role in success of “MAKE IN INDIA” and “SKILL INDIA INITIATIVE” of the Government of India.

IMS Ghaziabad is organizing ‘Books Exhibition’ on Thursday April 9, 2015. Keeping in mind the theme “Books are your best friends” the institute is organizing this exhibition with the aim to offer a unique opportunity for the intellectual capital.

8th Alumni Talk Series at IMS Ghaziabad

IMS Ghaziabad is putting constant efforts in enriching the students with knowledge and experience.Taking the legacy forward, IMS Ghaziabad invited its prestigious and esteemed alumni in 8thAlumni Talk Series. Dr. Urvashi Makkar Director, IMS Ghaziabad and Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Programme Chairperson-PGDM along with all the faculty members and current batch students welcomed the Alumni – Mr. Rajan Sindhwani of PGDM 1992-94 and Mr. Asim Khan of PGDM 2008-10 at their second home.

Dr. Makkar signified the importance of connecting with Alma Mater and motivated current batch to stay connected with its roots. Mr. Rajan Sindhwani, Business Development & Operations Manager at Buckman Laboratories India pvt ltd highlighted on corporate expectations from the young managers and talked about how communication plays important role to sustain in the corporate world.Mr. Asim Khan, Manager, Safexpress shared his views on how business/corporate communication plays vital role in the corporate as different corporate use different business languages and he has also emphasized that it is necessary for the employee to understand and practice the acronyms of different corporate concepts.

They both talked about the co-existence of collaborative and competitive modes, striving for individual excellence and yet reinforcing the ‘team culture’ amongst individuals. The Alumni went into the lanes of past memories at campus and shared that how exciting it is to come back to the alma-mater while addressing the students. The alumni were honored with a memento as a token of gratitude by Director.

IMS Ghaziabad associates with SRCC, University of Delhi

Being the leading B-School, IMS Ghaziabad has been associated with Sriram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad was invited as a special guest of honor during their two day annual intellectual fest Odyssey’15 on February 18 & 19, 2015. It was an honor for IMS Ghaziabad that She shared the dais with Dr. Ashok Khemka, Transport Commissioner, Haryana. She discussed about the perception of youth towards red-tapism and motivated the young generation towards nation building. Dr. Ashok Sehgal, Principal, SRCC with a token of appreciation. On another day, RJ Naved Khan – leading host from Radio Mirchi graced the event and talked about the benefits of higher education in current scenario.

Annual Convocation of MCA Batch-2011-14 at IMS Ghaziabad

IMS Ghaziabad organized its Annual Convocation of MCA (2011-14) batch on February 14, 2015. Chief Guest – Dr. R. K. Khandal, Vice Chancellor, UPTU; Shri Rakesh Chharia, Managing Trustee, IMS Society; Shri Pramod Agarwal and Shri Apurv Goel, Executive Council Members, IMS Society; Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Treasurer, IMS Society and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad inaugurated the convocation with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Chief Guest – Dr. R.K. Khandal, Vice Chancellor, UPTU congratulated MCA graduands of 2011-14 batch and their faculties and families for constant efforts and support during the 3 year journey. He also highlighted that Technological up-gradation will play a crucial role in transformation of society and nation.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director during her address emphasized the institutional development and initiatives. She quoted that technology is an integral part of human race and this leads to more and more demand of technocrats not only in IT but also in other related sectors. She also informed that all students of MCA batch has been successfully placed through campus recruitment process and joined their respective organizations.

During the degree distribution ceremony, First and Second Topper – Aarushi Gupta & Jaspreet Singh were awarded with scholarship Cheque of Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively. Four Meritorious students were also awarded with total scholarship of Rs. 30,000 for their outstanding academic performance. Graduates were enthralled with joy and delight. Convocation concluded with the vote of thanks to the dignitaries and national anthem.

Students of IMS Ghaziabad participated at DMA Workshop

“It is easier to build up a child than it is to repair an adult”.

IMS Ghaziabad under the leadership of Director Dr. Urvashi Makkar has given an opportunity to its students under the banner of corporate interface series to participate in DMA’s Workshop on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workshop” at Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

PGDM Students presented their thoughts and opinions on the topic “Workplace harassment”. India enacted its law on prevention of sexual harassment against female employees at the workplace. Thereafter those participants presented a small presentation and role play illustrating the importance of workplace ethics and code of conduct while addressing the 450 PGDM students.

Director representing IMS Ghaziabad at International Conference

Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director represented IMS Ghaziabad at International Conference of Business Management at India Habitat Centre on February 6, 2015. Ecclesia’15 – an International Conference of Business Management organized by Department of Management Studies, Deen Dayal Upadhayaya College, University of Delhi and chaired technical session on “Entrepreneurship” during the conference.

Director Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared her views on the emerging topic of role of youth in the evolving Business Management. She also highlighted the current scenario where significance lies on creativity rather than conventional methods adopted by the budding managers in the modern era of business.
