IMS Ghaziabad organized One week Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Program, certified through MSME (Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises), Government of India for the students of PGDM Second year (Operation specialization) from September 5-10, 2019.

Mr. R. Arora , who is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified quality Engineer with 20+ years of experience was the trainer of the programme. Dean Academics –Dr Tapan Kumar Nayak and Operations Area Chairperson –Dr Sunayana Jain welcomed the trainer on behalf of the Director Prof. Alok Pandey and motivated the registered students to take the sessions seriously. The training cum workshop covered application aspects of Six Sigma in both core (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing) and support functions (HR, Finance, Admin and Maintenance).The Green Belts help to remove barriers, build right focus and gain momentum to ensure timely execution of projects. More than 40 students enrolled for this programme. The training programme leading to certification from Government of India Organisation accepted internationally will add great value to the students profiles.

Special Seminar on “Commodity Awareness Programme” held on September 10, 2019 at IMS Ghaziabad,

Under the auspices of “Special Seminar Series 2019”, a seminal lecture was organized at IMS Ghaziabad on September 10, 2019 for the benefits of IMSians..Mr. Vinit Singh Kaler, a seasoned trainer with MCX Mumbai was the Guest of Honour. He was welcomed by Prof. Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Pandey drew attention on the importance of MCX which has crossed a turnover of INR 65 lakh crore and going high further. In his address to the students he asked “why do we need trading in commodity?”In his opinion everyone should understand asset classes like equity, debt instruments, commodity, currency, real estate etc. Prof. Pandey also emphasized that IMS Ghaziabad has signed MOU with MCX for knowledge sharing and research purpose and the present seminar was the outcome of that initiative.

Mr. Vinit Singh Kaler, who is a seasoned trainer with enriched corporate experience, introduced the audience with the historical development of the MCX in India and drew attention on Derivatives and Commodity Markets. In his view risks are associated with every asset class and it can be minimized in commodity market through commodity derivatives.. There are 20-25 commodities in the MCX ranging from Agri products to bullion, energy, and metals. He also highlighted that MCX has over INR 80,000 crore of turnover per day and also MCX boasts of over 40 lakh user terminals across the country. In the end he also talked about ‘Dos and Don’t for the new entrants in the commodity market. After the lecture , “Question & Answer session” took place followed by “Vote of Thanks” to the distinguished guests.

IMS Ghaziabad organized a Special Session on Thomsan & Reuters EIKON Data Base on 09.09. 2019. The session, under the patronage of Prof. Alok Pandey, Director IMS Ghaziabad, had two fold objectives- first, to make students of Management aware of the various database resources available in the IMS library for increasing the knowledge and employ-ability of students and secondly, to provide IMSians an opportunity to have an open house session through “Question & Answer Session” on the uses and applications of Thomsan & Reuters EIKON Data Base.

In its constant endeavour to provide holistic development and exposure to its students IMS Ghaziabad organized one day workshop on “Case study Analysis “on August 09, 2019. Prof. Alok Pandey, Director-IMS Ghaziabad graced the occasion with his inaugural remarks wherein he reinforced the importance of case studies in thedomain of management education and motivated the students to understand the pragmatic approach of a case which will help them to outshine in the corporate world.
The workshop was conducted by the academic fraternity of IMS Ghaziabad who holds array of experience and expertise in their respective areas. The case study based on Finance and Accounting was conducted by Dr. Neeraj Sanghi, Area Chairperson-Finance followed by a case on HR by Dr. Anita Singh, Area Chairperson-HR. The informative session concluded with an opportunity for students to discuss their doubts followed by Vote of thanks.
